Sam Chapman was my wife, best friend and soul mate. The best thing to have ever happened to me. She is much loved and will always be remembered by all her friends and family. Sam was very bright, strong and independent, but she loved being around the right people - her friends she loved as family. She brought happiness to me, and taught me much about life and how to live each day.

She died peacefully surrounded by her family at Bassetlaw Hospice, on 24 May 2008, after a long and brave struggle with melanoma.

On 7th September 2008 a small band of extremely unfit people attempted a 10km run across Sheffield - the Great Yorkshire Run. We did this in memory of Sam and in aid of the Bassetlaw Hospice, for whom we raised over £5000.

Thoughts

One thing that has changed is my age. Its been 13 years, not 12. Doesn't change how much I think about you though xxx

It has been 12 years and a lot has changed in my life. One thing that hasn't, is how much I think about you. You are in my thoughts every day. Maybe its a song or something happens, or maybe nothing happens - but every day I will think about you.

Well its been a year cheeky, and nothing has been the same. I miss you every single day, and wish you were here. Trying to do as you said with my life, but sometimes thats easier said than done. Miss you so much xxxx
