After starting a new job earlier in the year, and after listening to Sam talk about going on holiday as she needed a break, I went to Meadowhall in some free time I had to spend some money. Out of the blue I called her up and asked her if she fancied going on holiday to Kos or Florida. Of course, she answered Florida. We went to Florida in May of 2003, seeing the sights of Orlando, some of the parks, Miami, and the Keys. What a great time we had. This is the time when we really fell in love beyond all doubt. We took a video of this trip, trying to be artistic with the music playing in the back ground - my first attempt at one. Unfortunately the results were not great! Little did I know that 5 years later this video would become the only video of Sam that I've got, which is of any sort of quality. We visited loads of places on this trip, making the effort to visit a couple of parks, namely Kennedy (for me), and Gatorland (which is fantastic). We visited Daytona, Miami, Key Largo, Marathon, Key West - which we absolutely loved. On returning back to Orlando we also did a trip to Clearwater, which I think Sam liked possibly the most as the beach was devine and the water was warm. Slapping on the factor 50 we were still able to enjoy the beach - just carefully - and Sam was not going to be stopped from doing that either! Unfortunately this holiday is also where Sam spotted the swollen lymph gland - although she didn't know what it was at this point.
